If you are using an IRTrans USB module, you need a "driver" to make the OS recognize the module. Please download this package:
"FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_3.dmg" (434 KB). This works for Mac OS X 10.9 and above!

If you are running Mac OS X 10.3 up to 10.8, please use this package:
"FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_2_18.dmg"

After downloading and double-clicking the package, a window like this shows up:

Double click the respective package and you will be guided through the installation. It is recommended to quit iRed and unplug the USB module before installation and restart the Mac after installation!

If you are curious: these drivers come from FTDI, the manufacturer of the main chip on the IRTrans devices. Here's the respective driver page, however not all versions are recommended nor tested by us.
